The Mercedes-Benz Museum is one of the most famous sights and the most visited museum in Stuttgart. It offers a unique journey through the last 130 years for all lovers of automotive history. The 47.5m high building and its unique architecture are definitely an attraction for many tourists. In 2019, more than 850,000 people from over 130 different countries visited the museum.
The story
The history of the automotive group began in 1886, when the first vehicle was built. The museum brilliantly depicts the 130-year history of the group. The 160 vehicles and the total of more than 1,500 exhibits in the museum impress visitors and make the museum the only place in the world where the history of the brand can be experienced in a fascinating way.The exhibition
The exhibition presents not only the past and the interesting history of the brand, but also gives insight into the future. The special exhibition is divided into collection and myth rooms. In the 7 myth rooms, the history of the brand is told according to eras and themes. The collection rooms show the diversity of the brand portfolio. Princess Diana's red SL, the bus of the German men's national soccer team, the Popemobile and Emperor Hirohito's Great Mercedes Type 770 catch the visitors' eyes.Especially for children
